One thing that stands out is that the band has improved over the summer, March Park's concert was a cracking concert with the band producing a great sound, this together with Nigel's superb music choice really elevated the band, this must be good for all involved.
So that's it for another summer, I personally have had a very enjoyable time over this period, even "Serenade" has become a favourite of mine (haha) now we go into the next part of the year, an exciting time with the slow build up to the areas in March 2011.
Well done again to you all for working hard through this busy summer to make it a success, hope you all enjoyed it
Mr Chairman
Great post Mr Chairman ;-)
ReplyDeleteThinking back to Oxburgh Hall in June, and comparing it to West End Park on Sunday it is clear to see that the band has made progress over the summer. We've now gelled into a tight band.
And I agree Andrew that the music chosen by Nigel has helped (I've already waxed lyrical about 'My Fair Lady' in a previous post, and I haven't got bored with it at all, quite the opposite in fact. And I'd like to add 'Porgy & Bess' and the couple of Queen arrangements too).
This has been the busiest summer we've had for a few years, and as well as giving us more coffers in the bank, it has put the band in great shape for the rest of the year. A win-win for the band. Happy days!
It has been hard work this year trying to get Dep's - I only had to do it one weekend and it was a ruddy nightmare - well done to Mr Chairman for doing it all the time.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a busy summer, but needs must when you need the money, King's Lynn was not a good concert but that was the only blip and March was really good, with lots of positive feedback.
I have enjoyed the music we have been playing, thank you Nigel B, the more the band can improve the more great music we will be able to play.
So here's looking forward to the future with the band.
